Why Hot Water Extraction ? This is the method that nearly all of the carpet manufacturers and fiber producers recommend.
This is the only cleaning method classified as "DEEP CLEANING". All the others are considered 'light surface cleaning' because they are incapable of removing soil deep in the pile. The other methods also leave a large amount of detergents and cleaning materials in the carpet after cleaning.
This method is often referred to as 'Steam' cleaning due to the fine spray of hot water that is used. However real stem is a gas rather than a liquid and is never used on carpet. The process consists of spraying the hot cleaning solution into the carpet pile and recovering the solution and soil with a powerful vacuum into a holding tank. This can be done from a truck-mounted unit outside the home with only the hose and floor tol entering the home.
From a health stand point, the truck-mounted system is preferred because the dirty air and humidity are exhausted outside rather than recirculated around inside the house. Additionally truck-mounted systems are more powerful than portable systems, do a better cleaning job, and get the carpet dry more quickly.
